Over 30 Killed as Armed Attackers Raid Rural Market in Central Nigeria

A tragic wave of violence swept through central Nigeria over the weekend as armed assailants stormed a rural market, killing dozens and abducting several others, according to police reports.

Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that more than 30 people lost their lives in the attack, which unfolded on Sunday. “Some persons were also kidnapped. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims,” Abiodun told Reuters.
